TRUSTING THE UNCHANGING GOD IN HIS CALLING TO SERVE
May the grace and peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the unchanging God, who is the author and finisher of our faith, be upon you. As I reflect on my journey as a pastor here over the past few months, I find myself overwhelmed with a profound sense of awe and humility. Serving this church in this capacity has been an honor and a privilege that I do not take lightly or for granted.
In this ever-changing world, where nature undergoes its cycles, seasons shift, and human experiences evolve, there exists a hidden beauty in the transformative processes. Winter follows fall, summer after spring, and a rainbow after heavy rain, each representing a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the natural world. Similarly, as our bodies age, wrinkles appear, signifying the passage of time. While some changes may be irritating or unavoidable, I have discovered a steadfast source of comfort in the unwavering nature of our God.
Amidst the constant flux of life, He remains steadfast and unchanging. Trust in Him because the heavens and the earth shall pass away, but His words and His presence shall endure. As the prophet Malachi proclaims, “For I, the Lord, do not change” (Malachi 3:6). In this ever-changing world, He stands as the Alpha and Omega, the unchanging God, guiding us through the transformations and uncertainties.
“Of old you laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of your hands,
They will perish, but you will remain;
They will all wear out like a garment;
You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away.
But you are the same,
And your years have no end.”
Psalms 102: 25-27
